Financial advisor in Vitoria-Gasteiz

I am Eduardo Estallo, a financial advisor registered with the CNMV. I work alongside families and professionals in Vitoria-Gasteiz and Alava to manage their wealth with personalised advice, making full use of a foral tax framework most advisors do not handle.

Alava is taxed under its own rules

The Foral Government of Alava has its own regime for income tax and for inheritance and gift tax. Any significant decision about your assets, from an inheritance to the sale of a company, is planned better when you start from that framework rather than a generic one.

EPSV: a double tax advantage and a shift from 2026

EPSVs, the voluntary social welfare entities specific to the Basque Country, reduce your income tax base and, in their preferential forms, give you a tax credit. Alava's Foral Rule 3/2025 adopts the same shift as the other territories, effective from 2026: benefits from EPSVs and pension plans move to the savings base and only 60% is taxed if drawn over 15 years or more, instead of being taxed as employment income. Fitting contributions within the current limits and planning the drawdown under that new rule is where a specialist advisor genuinely adds value.

Open architecture

I choose funds one by one from everything the market offers, according to your particular situation. No model portfolio handed out in series and no catalogue from a single house. Flexibility is what tells over the long run.

What we typically solve in Vitoria-Gasteiz

The questions that reach us from Vitoria-Gasteiz and Alava repeat themselves: how and when to draw an EPSV without handing money to the tax authorities, what to do with the proceeds of selling a company, how to plan a succession under foral rules, and how much is needed to retire without lowering your standard of living. These are decisions you make once and they shape the following decade.

Frequently asked questions

What is your minimum?

From EUR 300,000. Below that figure, the level of personal follow-up we provide does not pay off for the client. If you are close to the threshold, tell us and we will look at it with no commitment.

Do you take Alava's foral tax rules and EPSVs into account?

Yes, that is the starting point. Alava has its own rules for income tax and for inheritance and gift tax, and EPSVs change the retirement arithmetic compared with the common regime. Since 2026, under Foral Rule 3/2025, benefits move to the savings base, which alters when it makes sense to draw them.

Do we have to meet in person in Vitoria-Gasteiz?

Not necessarily. The first meeting can be face to face or by video call, whichever you prefer. The follow-up afterwards is the same either way.

I already hold a portfolio at another bank. What do we do with it?

That is the usual situation. We review what you hold, what fees you are paying and what fits your plan. In Spain, switching between investment funds is not taxed until you redeem, so reorganising a portfolio need not trigger a tax bill.

Wealth in Vitoria-Gasteiz: what we see in our meetings

Alava combines car and aerospace manufacturing, institutional headquarters and a family-business fabric that includes the wineries of Rioja Alavesa. In Vitoria-Gasteiz we see industrial executives with stable pay, senior public employees with steady savings and families with vineyards and a winery preparing the handover. The usual decision is how to bring liquidity and diversification to wealth heavily concentrated in the business and in property.

Alava has its own provincial tax authority, with income tax and Wealth Tax rules that differ from the common regime: at present the Wealth Tax exempt minimum is EUR 800,000 and the main home is exempt up to EUR 400,000. For Inheritance Tax, spouses and children apply a reduction of EUR 400,000 per heir and the excess is taxed at 1.5%. These figures are worth reviewing every year. We do not provide tax advice; we coordinate with your tax adviser.

Do we meet in person in Vitoria-Gasteiz?

We work by video call and also in person when we agree to. Our office is in Huesca; the follow-up is the same either way.

What is your minimum?

From EUR 300,000. Below that, the follow-up we provide does not pay off for the client. Investments involve risk, which is why we start with your situation, not with a product. If you are close to the threshold, tell us and we will look at it.

Do you work with Rioja Alavesa families who own vineyards and a winery?

Yes. We help organise the financial wealth around the winery and plan the handover, working alongside your tax adviser.
